I. The manuscript of the volume:

The manuscript of the volume entitled:Crisis, Authoritarianism and Emergency Powers: Towards a Siege Mentality, edited by Cosmin Sebastian Cercel and Corneliu Pintilescu, was accepted for publication by Routledge and the editors signed the contract with the publishing house.

II. Organization of round tables with students and journalists

The E-Siege project team organized the following events:

1. “A Comparative Approach to Roma and Jewish Survivors’ Post-War Compensation Claims in Communist Romania”, paper presented online by Petre Matei at the University of Uppsala followed by discussions with students, 28 February 2024, 17:00-18.30.

2. Roundtable with students of the Faculty of History and Philosophy at the Babeş-Bolyai University following the presentation entitled “Political Violence and State of Siege in Romania during the 1930s”, held by Corneliu Pintilescu (26 March 2024, 19:00, Napoca street, no. 11, Room 112, Cluj-Napoca).

3. Roundtable with journalists and researchers following the virtual presentation entitled: “An ethnography of the ‘dual state’ and the ascension of the authoritarianism in Romania (1933-1944): Aims and results of the research project”, held by Corneliu Pintilescu (23 April 2024, orele 12:30-13:30).

4. Roundtable with students of the Faculty of History of the University of Bucharest following the virtual presentation entitled: “From the Far-right Dictatorships to Communism: Crisis, Political Violence and State-of-siege Mechanisms in Romania (1938-1956)”, held by Corneliu Pintilescu (MA Programme History of Communism, 23 April 2024, 19:00-20:00)
